Those of you who read this Phuket golf blog on a regular basis will know that we like to talk about the new layout and refurbishment at the Laguna Phuket Golf Club, which has taken the course’s standards to the next level. If you enjoy playing in competitions or like to meet golfing legends, the Laguna Golf Classic, hosted at both Laguna Phuket Golf Club and Laguna Lang Co Golf Club in Vietnam promises to be something special for golf fans and players.

The first 2 rounds will be held at Laguna Phuket on the 18-19 September, concluding with the final 2 rounds in Vietnam on the 13-14 November, 2015. Anyone can take part in this tournament with the first stage at Phuket with an 8,750 THB entrance fee that includes 2 rounds of golf, shared carts, caddies and a welcome party and award ceremony dinner.

Those of you who have been into golf over the past few decades will no doubt remember the looming and intimidating figure of Sir Nick Faldo; 6-time major golf championship winner and former world number 1 from the United Kingdom. This year’s final 2 rounds at the Laguna Lang Co Golf Club in Vietnam, will be hosted by Sir Nick. It’s a shame he won’t be visiting the Phuket leg of the tournament, but if you are taking part in Vietnam, you will get to meet him.

Whether you want to play in the event or just watch, it promises to be a fine event to promote the sport more in SE-Asia.
